Music series beams live shows from Campbell River across the country

A series of concerts featuring in-person and online performances is putting music from four corners of Canada into venues and homes across the country, with the goal of supporting the embattled arts and culture sectors.

Music from the Edges of Canada, which is co-produced by Margot Holmes of Nanaimo, is narrowing the gap brought about by COVID-19, which made touring all but impossible for the better part of 18 months.

Yellowknife Artists To Be Featured In New Live Music Festival

A new national musical series featuring 22 Canadian artists is on the way and Yellowknife will play a role.

From October 2021 to March 2022, a series titled Music from the Edges of Canada will feature 11 full production concerts broadcast live to viewers’ homes from four theaters on Canada’s borders.

The Northern Arts and Culture Center (NACC) in Yellowknife will be one of these theaters.

Campbell River theatre chosen as one of four for Music from the Edges series

Campbell River music aficionados eager to see to some live performances by talented artists will be pleased to learn about Music from the Edges of Canada.

The national music series is the brain child of event producers Margot Holmes, and Debbie Peters, who developed it in response to limited options available to touring musicians living on the outskirts of Canada.

“This was a way for them to still have work, which is close to home, but can be showcased everywhere,” Holmes said.
