Sylvia Cloutier

Sylvia Cloutier is a performer, actor, musician, playwright, television and theatre producer, director, motivational speaker and mother from Kuujjuaq, Nunavik (Northern Quebec). Sylvia lived in Iqaluit for over 20 years and is currently residing in Montreal. She is a graduate of the prestigious National Theatre School where she also held the position of Indigenous Artist-in-Residence.

Digawolf

Diga grew up in the remote community of Behchoko, the capital of the Tlicho nation, in Canada’s Northwest Territories. His first and only language until the age of nine was Tlicho, and his songs are inspired by his father’s stories of life on the land, as well as his own experience of navigating two worlds. Diga co-wrote First Sign of Spring and This Old Town

Bob Hamilton

Bob Hamilton is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and the owner of Old Crow Recording. Bob has received five Juno nominations and one Juno award for albums he has produced. He has toured extensively in Canada, the USA, and Europe with a/o Diyet, A Circumpolar Soundscape, Sarah Macdougall, and Hungry Hill. Bob performed with NNC on First Sign of Spring and Outside

Nive Nielsen

Nive Nielsen is from Greenland and is proudly Inuk. Nive and her band the Deer Children tour extensively in Europe, Asia, and North America. Nive isn't just another award winning indie rock sensation, though; she has also followed her passion to a career in film and TV. She has collaborated with Diyet on writing Outside and Mountains and is featured in the NNC series on the song Outside.

Jody Peters

Born at an early age, Jody Peters grew up immersed in the music industry. A versatile performer, he is in demand as a music educator, side-musician, and is co-leader and bassist of the high energy rock outfit, Speed Control. Jody's guest appearance with NNC is on the song Road Warrior.

Eric Reed

Eric is a live performance and studio multi-instrumentalist. He is a renowned engineer and producer of studio and live recordings, working with artists such as Barney Bentall, Tiller's Folly, and Wyckham Porteous and with producers John Ellis and Jan de Vroede. In addition, Eric sits in with NNC on guitar, mandolin, and bass.

Selena Savage

Selena Savage is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist who joins NNC on trombone and vocals. She is currently majoring in trombone at the University of Toronto’s prestigious Jazz Program and is the horn section (all the horns!) featured on This Old Town.

Charlie Shapiro

Charlie Shapiro, originally from Georgia, is now living and making music in Denmark. He is one of the creative forces behind History of Sugar, The Concrete Boys, Layman Gloss, and Nive and the Deer Children. Charlie is a diverse musician who sits in with NNC both on recordings and live shows.

aRTLeSS Collective

Co-founded by the creative directing duo of Pablo Saravanja and Jay Bulckaert in 2013, the aRTLeSS Collective is Northwest Territories’ premiere production studio. Based out of Yellowknife, NT, we are a creative media studio that works with the best artists in the circumpolar world, creating film, television and multi-media entertainment.

Aiden Cartwright

Aidan Cartwright was born in Yellowknife NWT in 1986. In 2004, Aidan went to Calgary to attend the Alberta Arts University where he obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009. Aidan presently lives in Yellowknife where he continues to make, support and teach the arts of all genres.

Erin Corbett

Erin Cham Corbett is a multitalented installation artist and maker of things based in Whitehorse, Yukon, the traditional territory of Ta’an Kwäch’än Council and Kwanlin Dün First Nation. Currently, Erin is drawing from the teachings of their Ama (grandmother) and family to create spaces for sharing, honouring, and exploring their Chinese culture. Erin's works invade physical and digital spaces and their playful video inspires the unexpected.

Lia Fabre-Dimsdale

Lia Fabre-Dimsdale, a member of the Liidlii Kue First Nation, grew up in Fort Simpson, NWT. Living in the Yukon, Lia was an artist in residence at the 2018 Chu Niikwän Residency and involved with the Splintered Craft Youth Art Centre. She is currently studying animation at Emily Carr University.

Lia and Basia have collaborated on a series of live overhead projections that toured festivals including the Skookum Jim Folklore show, the Adaka Cultural Festival, Atlin Arts & Music Festival in BC, and the Available Light Film Festival. They came together at the Splintered Craft Youth Arts Centre in Whitehorse, YT.

Brett Elliott

Videographer from Whitehorse, Yukon, Brett Eliott specializes in making great ‘live off the floor’ videos for musicians. Brett has worked with the NNC capturing live performances such as the video for Outside and captured the overhead projections created for First Sign of Spring and Raven's Blues.

Basia (Barb) Hinton

Basia (Barb) is a visual artist, teacher, drummer, advocate, and arts programmer who creates paintings, prints, and installations based on intimacy, connection, soundwaves, and the macro and micro workings of the cosmos. She hails from Saskatchewan and is a curious cat with a BFA, B.Ed, and Master in Community Development.

Alistair Maitland

Alistair Maitland is a visual storyteller that loves to document people, their expressions, and experiences. His goal is to capture a glimpse into the soul of a moment, person, or event. Based in Whitehorse YT, it was here that he discovered his deep love of photography. Alistair is highly sought after for his work as both a videographer and photographer, and he created the video for Road Warrior.

Brendan Preston

Born and raised in the Yukon, Brendan came to filmmaking through his passion for photography & storytelling. He is an alumnus of Mt. Allison University (2007) and Vancouver Film School (2010) and with over 13 years of film industry experience, is considered amongst the most experienced filmmakers in the territory. Brendan created the film Fish & Mud.

Terry Woolf

Videographer Terry Woolf was British-born, Ontario-raised, and for the past 45 years an NWT resident. He has had the privilege of working with the people and on the land of most of northern Canada. His hobbies are dog mushing, canoeing, and trying to learn the trumpet.

Debbie Peters

Debbie Peters focuses on developing new audiences nationally and internationally for some of Canada's finest musicians. The founder of Magnum Opus Management, she built the company into an award-winning agency and artist development company from her base of operations in Whitehorse, Yukon. She is a partner in the Maverick Cooperative and CEO of ThePitch.ca, a digital showcasing platform for the performing arts. Debbie is also the executive director and manager of the New North Collective.
